New 5-axis machining center with robotic feeding station

Currently KUNDERT put his new 5-axis machining center with robotic feeding station into operation. The customer benefits of this major investment at KUNDERT in Rapperswil-Jona are:

  • Significant reduction of machine changes during multiple and complex operations due to 210 tool places, 55 pallet spaces and 8 robot gripper spaces.
  • Suitable for single- and multiple- mounting, which represents a significantly greater flexibility regarding lot size. Small and large series can that way we be produce economical and efficient.
  • The automation allows a 24-hour operation during seven days a week.

With this step the management intendeds to forge ahead their chip-cutting plastics processing/plastics tooling toward industry 4.0

New electrically conductive, nanoparticle-modified POM C

The new POM C ELS NANO black is an electrically conductive nanoparticle-modified POM C. In contrast to other conventional materials available on the market, POM C ELS NANO black dispenses conductive carbon black. As a result, the important POM C properties, such as the strength values, remain virtually unchanged. This is made possible only by the groundbreaking nanotechnology, which requires only a very small amount of additive to achieve the conductivity. The surface resistance of our new material is 103 - 104 Ω and the volume resistivity 104 Ω.cm (tested to IEC 93).

Applications find electrically conductive acetal resins, especially in components where electrical discharges in use prepare problems. Examples of applications are insulation, integrated circuits, hard disk drives or bobbins.

The stock program is currently being set up at KUNDERT. Currently available from stock is a rod with a diameter of 12 millimeters.
